Post The first blind target..
Wellllllllll I just just did the first blind target on disc 1, at the 15 minute break point.. I pretty much got it wrong.. I did draw a ^ shape but I think that was only because Ed drew it previously while he was teaching. Another thing that concerned me, is that i found myself just going through and picking at random words from the descriptor list which is obviously me THINKING.... If we're to refer to the list, that isn't the subconscious mind right? Seems like if I didn't have the list TO refer to, then I would just be trying to do word association, e.g., for Texture, I'd just think of the first texture that came to mind, but that's thinking right?

Then when it came time to draw the sketch, I found myself looking at the previous page and drawing what I saw based on the words I wrote, that seemed wrong too. so I closed my eyes (I know, wasn't supposed to do that) and just doodled, which was very wrong and resulted in just a bunch of squiggly lines..... Words of advice?

Ever tried ice skating, skiiing, karate, playing a musical instrument -- or any other skill for that matter? In your case, apparently not. You closed your eyes, knowing 'it was wrong!" Thank your lucky stars that I was not next to you with my baseball bat! Otherwise, you would indeed be seeing stars! Put your d*** pen back onto the paper and commit yourself to learning the most incredible, evolutionary skill on the planet. (Americans, immersed in their TV/car culture, are 'so into' instant gratification, which, unfortunately, is one of the reasons why another culture -- the Chinese -- will eat us alive...oh well).

I'm serious about teaching RV. Are you serious about learning it? RV dilettante, perhaps? Nevertheless, you've garnered my attention, and I'll be watching you. Buckle down and learn this thing called 'RV' -- that is a direct order.

Thanks Ed, I've read other posts from newbies like me and know that I just have to keep doing it. I'm not one to give up. I was just looking to see if anyone could give some tips for the common starting out obstacles... I thank you for your discipline though!
