 Question about the analytical sketch..
I'm on to the second DVD, and I have to say I'm really having alot of fun.
As for my question: I find myself having a hard time doing all 3 stages of a key aspect on a single peice of paper. When I get to the analytical sketch, it just feels too small and cramped. Is it okay to use a new sheet of paper for the S3 key aspect analytical sketch?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
There's no way I can fit stage 3 on the first page. I always go to another sheet.

Ah, thank you. Good to see I'm not the only one who had that problem.

The S3 analytical sketch goes on its own sheet of paper.
In fact, on the odd occasion where your hand wants to sketch beyond the edge of the paper, you may quickly place an additional blank sheet of paper next to the first one, so that you can continue sketching.

 Paper
In fact I do:
2 pages of ideograms (2 ideos /page) ****(I understand that Ed doesn't teach his students that way in this coarse) The point is use more paper.. Don't cramp yourself.
1 seperate page for my Stage 2
1 seperate page for Stage 3
1 seperate page for Stage 4 ONLY down to 2/3 point (sometimes I do a second or third page Stage 4)

Alex,
I've wanted to ask you, do you mean that you extend S4 for one given aspect over 2 or 3 pages (each page ending at the 2/3 mark)?
I've been curious about this and wanting to try it. I've always felt cramped by S4; later, I look over S4s while compiling the S.T. and lament how there were other packets of data I wish I'd had space to explore.
I don't quite understand why accurate data would recommence with a new page if, after a 2/3 mark on one S4 page, it typically becomes junk... Does this accuracy recommence with a new page because of the pause involved in starting a new S4 page? (In a similar way to the aid given by the pause that occurs while writing "From the top of [A]..."?) Does the viewer's attentiveness sort of 'reset' or 'refresh' at such a pause, allowing an extension of accurate S4 data?
Thanks for your guidance on this.

We absolutely must stop at the 2/3 point for S4. Any descriptors listed beyond the 2/3 point (or the 3/4 point, if you have a big top-of-page margin) has too great of a chance of being AOL.
Just like we are not allowed to do a, "few extra freehand sketches," we are not allowed to do any extra S4 pages -- unless you initiate another movement on an aspect (e.g. "From the top of [X] SSBP").

I would tend to agree. From what I have been told regarding the 2/3 - 3/4 line.
It is there to prevent you from entering more data. Ed has stated that any data beyond that point is likely to be imagination (AOL).
I would tend to think (I may be mistaken, it happens ) that simply continuing onto another sheet of paper may circumvent the purpose of the line.
Perhaps after time this will not be as big a problem.
Take care all

 extra pages of S4
Depends.
For beginners 1 page 2/3 line stop I agree
More experienced ... continue on to the 2nd page if good data is still coming.. this requires you to be able to KNOW what good data is...

Re: Question about the analytical sketch..
Question: Is the second S4[aspect] page still permissible, if one knows what he/she is doing?

Obviously, you don't know what you're doing. Otherwise, you would have never asked the question. It is a sure-fire way to destroy a session.

I suppose you're right. I am a not deviant of protocol(that you warned me about being before), but I am one to assume that professionals have inside knowledge.

Re: Question about the analytical sketch..
Fair assumption, but some of the original pros have become so immersed in ARV for so long, that their doctrinal RV skills have become rusty or seriously degraded -- and operational caveats, forgotten.
(Several former MIA team members were, in fact, dismissed for the above reasons)
And, if 'you suppose I'm right' -- then we need to have a little talk...

Re: Question about the analytical sketch..
Sorry, sir. I didn't know what I was doing. The clarification is helpful, and now I do know what I am doing( I think).
